Note to S. Korean Officials: Stop Crying Wolf

The latest news coming out of South Korea is that its National Intelligence Service (NIS) has a DPRK document which issues an order dated 7 Jun 09 for Lab 110 to “destroy the South Korean puppet communications networks in an instant”.
The NIS isn’t confirming or denying the announcement, made by a “senior ruling party official” of the South Korean government.
I have a bit of advice for the South Korean official(s) who persist in painting their enemy in the North as the perpetual bogeyman – quit it. If Lab 110 or another technical research facility in the DPRK wanted your networks down, they’d be down, and it wouldn’t be with a weak DDOS attack. It also wouldn’t take them almost a month to cobble together some old malware to do it.
Stop crying wolf, or when the time comes that the North DOES launch a serious attack against you, your claims will have even less credibility then they do now.
