I’m happy to see Microsoft moving into this space. While I haven’t seen a demo of this particular product, you can read about how the Illinois State Police have used FusionX, and here’s a marketing piece on it:
Agencies engaged in homeland security activities need versatility in diverse mission environments, flexibility for adapting to new missions and unforeseen operational challenges, and adaptability in managing multiple-access eligibilities. Microsoft’s FusionX solution:
- Leverages existing systems and infrastructure—reducing reinvestment, development, and replacement costs.
- Integrates with existing workflows and policies and provides an intuitive user experience.
- Complies with information-management policies for safe, automated, consistent records management.
- Protects sensitive information with tools that preserve data confidentiality and availability.
- Reduces time and effort required in for searching databases and knowledge bases.
- Allows for comprehensive response to legal inquiries for specific classes of documents.
- Limits access to authorized users.
- Meets regulatory requirements through organized stored content.
With this interoperable solution, agencies can seamlessly move information from intake to analysis to dissemination in a multiple-agency, multilevel environment while utilizing existing assets and integrating with domain-specific applications.
