In addition to the excellent ISIS report that I just blogged about, here are a few gems for your weekend reading:

Read Twitter friend Nate Gilliatt’s “Social Media Analysis for Workgroups“. The Social Web is of vital importance for both Business Intelligence and National Security Intelligence analysis. Nate’s work in this area is exceptional.

As a fan of the Sematic Web, I’ve been a member of Twine for awhile. It’s a fascinating application in private beta, but I must confess that I haven’t really utilized it’s full potential, nor do I have the time to find and read everything I need to know to help me get started. And you can check out my Twine on Unrestricted Warfare here.

iPods in combat. I love this solution to translation issues for our troops serving overseas.

UPDATE: Read “Using Web 2.0 to Track a Political Crisis” by Twitter friend Lewis Shepherd. Lewis offers some terrific suggestions including PopFly mashups and a new CIA application Samizdat for those of you with clearance.
